As the last days of the winter arrived, we have had a feeling that it might be time to try those mantyhose with built-in-sock like thing.
If you don't know what we are talking about: these are tights that have a different knit below the knees, which imitates socks. So the mantyhose-fanatic guy can enjoy the touch of the rather sheer upper part, and just be careless about the rest of the world, not needing to tuck his feet into socks to avoid stupid conversations about what he wears.
So we ordered a pair of Lida Active Man mantyhose (made in Poland) and a pair of Activskin 4012 Full Support Opaques (made in USA) - for practical reasons we used the Legwear4men shop, but you can find them elsewhere (check out all the shops selling mantyhose here).
Test: Lida Active Man
Once the package arrived, we were calling our usual suspect.
This guy once took our very expensive Gerbe mantyhose, calling it 'very comfortable' and 'something he should show to his girlfriend' so we were very careful about getting back the hosiery at the end.
Lida Active Man is a high quality mantyhose. It has an almost sheer touch (about 40 den) at the upper part, and an opaque sock below the knee.
The sock part is not patterned, and is not shiny at all. It looks like opaque tights is you go very close - like less than half a meter.
So if you are shy for some reasons, Lida will hide the sheer fun and show only the usual tights part. On the other hand, it's elegant to have a dress-sock like legwear.
